Wed, 15 May 2019
Colleagues at BNP Paribas Personal Finance, a leading employer in the West Midlands, came together to celebrate the success and achievements of talented individuals and teams across the business at its annual Be the Difference awards.
The awards, held at Edgbaston Cricket Club in Birmingham, is a flagship event for the company who employs 800 people and has enjoyed a presence in Solihull for over 45 years. The ceremony recognises colleagues and teams who have gone above and beyond and is a popular event given nominations can come from any individual in the company across both its Solihull and Belfast offices. Categories include Customer Advocacy, Partners in Growth, Best Newcomer, What’s My Impact (Community Award), CEO Colleague of the Year and for the first time a new award of Inspirational Woman of the Year was launched.
Given BNP Paribas Personal Finance’s commitment to supporting young people and improving the local communities in which it operates, the company was delighted to welcome Rachel Roxburgh, CEO of Dallaglio RugbyWorks. Rachel talked about the partnership in the West Midlands helping young teenagers excluded from mainstream education to remain in sustained education, training or employment.
Colleagues from a wide range of areas including customer service, marketing, finance, risk, IT and HR joined forces to recognise the amazing contributions of their colleagues and to hear from Rob Law, MBE, founder of Trunki children’s luggage and ex Dragons Den contestant, who gave an inspiring talk on the importance of a strong vision and values to drive success.
Lynda Brennan, Director of HR, BNP Paribas Personal Finance in the UK, said: "Our Be the Difference awards are a great way to highlight the fantastic achievements of both individuals and teams across the company. I feel proud to see just how many people go the extra mile and epitomise the company's core values. It gives me great pleasure to see those colleagues be recognised as the success of our company is all down to the people who make it happen; our Everyday Heroes."
