BNP Paribas Personal Finance, the leading provider of credit cards, affinity loans and loyalty solutions partnered with the Greater Birmingham Professional Services Academy (GBPSA), the first of its kind in the UK, to offer students and young people mentoring and work experience opportunities at their headquarters based in Solihull.

The unique partnership was celebrated at an Awards Lunch at St. Johns Hotel where students and their mentors were recognised for their passion and commitment towards the initiative.

As part of BNP Paribas Personal Finance’s Make a Difference programme, which encompasses fundraising and volunteering activities, employees ran a number of lectures covering CV writing, product development and being a responsible lender.

Stephen Hunt, CEO, BNP Paribas Personal Finance says “We want to bridge the gap between education and the workplace.  Our aim was to give students an opportunity to gain valuable skills and help with their personal growth.   We look forward to welcoming three students who will gain practical experience during the summer by joining our Finance, Fraud and Business Transformation Team”.

BNP Paribas Personal Finance are clearly committed to making a difference to the local community. Having also partnered with Grace Academy, employees play the role of mentoring students to help develop skills that boost young people’s confidence, whilst giving them an insight into the working world.
