INTRODUCING OUR NEW CHIEF COMMERCIAL OFFICER

We have big ambitions at BNP Paribas Personal Finance UK and our 2025 plan will see big transformations in our digital, data and decisioning capabilities, boosting innovation and driving our partnerships forward. 

As a leader in consumer finance, we have 50 years’ experience of working with retailers to create flexible finance solutions giving choice and value to customers whilst supporting partners to drive incremental sales and repeat business. 

To support our transformation we have been investing in tools to make smarter decisions through increased data and insights and a key focus on creating a great customer experience.  

As part of this, Andrew Brameld has stepped up from his role as managing director of motor finance to chief commercial officer.

Andrew joined BNP Paribas Personal Finance UK in 2017 following an extensive career in automotive finance to establish our motor finance division. It successfully launched in 2019 and is now a leading finance solution used by multiple motor dealers and millions of customers.

Now, Andrew has made the move to our commercial team, which includes retail point of sale finance as well as motor finance, and we sat down with him to find out how he plans to use his experience to expand the business’ commercial footprint.  

Top five ambitions

Starting with ambitions, Andrew outlined his five goals in the new role:

  1. Grow our partnership base - increasing the number of partnerships across our main three business lines of retail finance, motor finance and personal loans).
  2. Maximise the value of our partnerships - growing sales for partners by making finance more readily available in-store and on-line.
  3. Develop the partnership offer - ensuring our solutions are delivering market-leading functionality and defining a relationship model to deliver long term growth.
  4. Ensure BNP Paribas Personal Finance UK delivers against its offer - with a key focus on smooth and seamless delivery.
  5. Embedding Consumer Duty - prioritising customers to ensure they get the best possible outcome and our models meet those important principles.

Achieving the ambitions

Andrew explained: “We have a real opportunity at BNP Paribas Personal Finance UK to take our finance solutions to the next level, so I am eager to start planning. 

“The first step is to make sure there is a better understanding across the organisation of how our partners operate. Every partner is different, which is one of the many reasons I love working at BNP Paribas Personal Finance UK as it means that we can create a bespoke model that will drive sales and growth plus transform the customer experience.

“The second step is to make our solutions compelling in how we bring the propositions to life. This includes continuing to innovate at pace, making our propositions seamless especially in-store and improving the customer journey from start to finish as part of our commitment to being a responsible lender.”

Looking ahead

To continue our path of pioneering, anticipating change and adapting to meet evolving customer and partner needs, Andrew said: “We must strengthen the partnership collaboration, so finance is more readily available for customers, helping us grow sales for our partners.

“I look forward to achieving these goals alongside the incredible commercial team at BNP Paribas Personal Finance UK who all share the same vision of being a force for positive change and accelerating our mission of being partners in growth.”
