Our ambition at BNP Paribas Personal Finance is to create a great place to work, and we are proud of the diverse and inclusive environment that we’ve created.

So much more than just a box ticking exercise, gender diversity is part of our culture, and we’re working hard to achieve our goal of a 50/50 gender split in the senior management team by September 2022, as part of our commitment to the Women in Finance Charter.

One of the women driving this change is Claire Moore, our director of operations, who was recently listed in the 2019 Credit 500 index.

For Claire, there is no such thing as a “typical” day, and whether she’s on an individual call with a partner,  coaching new talent or thinking strategically about longer term solutions for the business, it’s fair to say Claire is “customer-obsessed” in everything she does.

Claire has worked in financial services for the majority of her career, across a wide range of roles including marketing and IT. This has given her a 360 degree view of the industry which has aided her considerably in her current role, where she is responsible for managing the end to end customer experience from an operations perspective.

Currently completing her first year with the business after joining in August 2018, Claire has been instrumental in improving both the colleague and customer journey by empowering the front line to provide a seamless experience for time-poor customers.

Finance is an industry which has traditionally been male dominated, so we work hard to support women in the workplace to ensure they can build a career with us/empower them.

Claire says: “As a mum to 11-year-old twins I’ve never wanted to be a weekend parent, and what’s great about working at BNP Paribas Personal Finance is the flexibility they offer.

“Because my employer trusts me to balance my own workload, I can still be part of those important moments that you can never get back as a parent. For me, this means making time for a family breakfast every day.

“At BNP Paribas Personal Finance I’m treated the same as everyone else and, because the people I work with are so supportive, I never have to feel guilty about balancing my work and home life.”

On her top tips for managing your work life balance as a parent, Claire says: “To juggle everything effectively it’s important you always stay true to yourself and put clear boundaries in place.

“As a woman in finance, I feel both a professional and personal responsibility to inspire other women, and I want to be a role model for younger women considering a career in this industry.

“For me, true diversity and inclusion is about celebrating our differences, rather than trying to be like everyone else, which is why I’m so proud to be a woman in finance working for a company like BNP Paribas Personal Finance.”
